PURPOSE:To switch the existing switch to the stand-by switch without generating a data error when a fault is generated, by constituting the titled method so that during the period in which one of two memories for constituting two time switches is reading out a real data, the other memory executes asynchronously write and read-one of an input data, and checking the obtained read-out data. CONSTITUTION:First and second time switches 3a, 4a ; 3b, 4b are constituted for the memories to execute asynchronously a write operation and a read-out operation, and during a period in which one of the first and the second time switches 3a, 4a ; 3b, 4b is reading out a real data to the outside, the other time switch executes asynchronously write operation and a read-out operation of an input data, and based on at least its read-out data the generation of a fault is detected. In such a way, the generation of a data error immediately before switching the existing switch to the stand-by switch can be prevented.
