PURPOSE:To improve the transport speed, correcting skew, by forming the loop of a paper sheet transport passage by the closing operation of an opening/ closing gate member and pressing the paper sheet in loop form in the transport direction by a loop guide member, interlocked with the opening operation of the gate member. CONSTITUTION:A transport passage is opened and closed by the gate part 10a of a resistor gate 10 immediately before resistor rollers 1 and 2. The resister gate 10 is moved vertically by a solenoid 13 through a supporting shaft 11, and the transport passage is opened and closed. A loop guide plate 20 can be turned by a supporting shaft 21, and always urged in the direction (c), and engaged with a roller 23 at the edge part of a lever 22 axially supported onto a supporting shaft 24. The lever 22 is connected at the rear edge of the resister gate 10 through a lever 25. When the top edge 10a of the gate closes the transport passage, a paper sheet is formed into loop form between an upper side guide 7 and the loop guide plate 20, and skew is corrected. A roller 23 is shifted downwardly, interlocked with the opening operation of the top edge 10a of the gate, and the loop guide plate 20 presses the loop part, and the paper sheet is advanced.
