A forceps for removing a contraceptive coil from the uterus comprises two legs (1, 2) interconnected via a hinge (3) and thus pivotable betweeen a closed and an open position. The two legs have, in the area of their extreme front ends, recesses or indentations which extend a limited distance inwardly from said ends and which form, in the closed state of the forceps, a forwardly open gap (7), at the same time as the posteriorly situated portions of the leg front parts closely engage with each other. |
