PURPOSE:To improve environmental stability in a photosensor section, enhance sensor characteristics reliability, and ease the stress attributable to the junctioning of a protective layer and a substrate by a method wherein an intermediate layer of a specified thickness covers the photosensor on a substrate and the intermediate layer is provided with the protective layer positioned thereon. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate layer 130 is provided whose thickness should preferably be 0.1-10mum. The intermediate layer 130 should preferably be lower in hardness (for example on the Vickers scale) than a protective layer 129 for the relaxation of stress present between the substrate and the protective layer 129 and high in purity for the stabilization of the surface of a photosensor section 108. A silicone resin will be a good choice. When a silicone resin is in use, the rate of alkaline ions therein should preferably be not higher than 1ppm. The intermediate layer 130 may be a photoresist. The protective layer 129, whereto functions of a spacer are to be added for the prevention of abrasion attributable to a manuscript P and for the precise control of the image resolution for reading, is built of an approximately 0.1mm-thick layer of a light-transmitting resin, for example photo-setting and organic, positioned on the intermediate layer 130. |
