摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain the title detector made possible in mass production, having uniform capacity and generating no detection error even when the concn. of interference gas is not constant, by providing a means adjusting the quantity of measuring beam incident to a rear chamber between a front chamber and the rear chamber. CONSTITUTION:The beam from a beam source 22 is incident to a specimen cell 23 and a comparing cell 24 in equal quantity and specimen gas is allowed to flow into the specimen cell 23. The comparing cell 24 is sealed with infrared ray absorbing inert gas, for example, air or nitrogen. A condenser 25 allowed the beam transmitted through the specimen cell 23 and the comparing cell 24 to be incident to a single infrared ray detector 1. In order to exclude the interference sensitivity of interference gas, the interference gas is allowed to flow in the specimen cell 23 at first to make the energy absorbed in a rear chamber 7 equal to the energy absorbed in a front chamber 4. That is, the position of a trimmer 9 is adjusted so as not to generate pressure difference between the front chamber 4 and the rear chamber 7. By this method, a detector made possible in mass production, having uniform capacity and generating no detection error even when the concn. of the interference gas is not constant is obtained.
