NEW MATERIAL:An aromatic dicarboxylic acid derivative shown by formula I (Y is H or 6-14C perfluoroalkenyl). EXAMPLE:5-(Perfluorononenyloxy)isophthalic acid diallyl ester. USE:A raw material for cured resins having water resistance and heat resistance useful in producing fiber reinforced plastics, an improver for alkyd resin or an intermediate thereof. PREPARATION:For example, hydroxyisophthalic acid is esterified with allyl alcohol in a solvent such as toluene in the presence of a catalyst such as sulfuric acid to give a hydroxy aromatic dicarboxylic acid derivative (when Y is H in the formula I) shown by formula II, a novel compound, which is reacted with a perfluoroalkene shown by the formula XF (X is Y except H) such as hexafluoropropene trimer in a solvent such as dimethylformamide in the presence of a base such as triethylamine at 0-40 deg.C to give a compound shown by formula I wherein Y is X.
