PURPOSE:To provide the title compsn. which has excellent rigidity, tensile strength, etc., is homogeneous and has woody texture, consisting of specific plasticized wood and a synthetic thermoplastic high-molecular material. CONSTITUTION:An org. group having phenyl group is introduced into part of hydroxyl groups of each of cellulose, hemicellulose and lignin in raw wood by a chemical modification method 1 esterification or etherification treatment to obtain plasticized wood (A). The component A is blended with a thermoplastic high-molecular material (B) selected from the group consisting of polyphenylene ether, polyoxymethylene (co)polymers and compositions of arom. polycarbonate and polyphenylene ether with arom. vinyl compd. polymers (e.g., a styrene/maleic anhydride copolymer) and optionally, a thermal stabilizer, an antioxidant, an ultraviolet absorber, an inorg. filler, etc. (C).
