PURPOSE:To obtain the distribution of a response time characteristic in a single action, by finding a time difference between a start time and a completion time, performing addition on the corresponding column of distribution statistics, and reading it out afterwards. CONSTITUTION:A random pulse generator 4 issues a command to start an operation to a test machine 2 via a trigger line 6, and the test machine 2 impresses a false all on an exchange 1 to be tested via a communication line 5. After a constant time, a dial tone is returned, and dial tone response time delay distribution is displayed on the display part 3 of the test machine 2. In other words, the number of times of response until the dial tone is returned after on-hooking is accumulated, for example, in first register when it is between time 0-T, the number of times between T-2T in second register, and further, the number of times between (k-1)T-kT in k-th register. In such a way, it is possible to read the number of times corresponding to 20 of classification immediately. Also, it is possible to measure actually the distribution of the response time in an on-line operation.
