PURPOSE:To shorten the waiting time for transfer of data by setting an adaptor containing a data buffer between a single controller and plural disk devices and performing the transfer of data in parallel with each other between an adaptor and said disk devices. CONSTITUTION:A disk control adaptor containing a data buffer part 55 including the data memory areas corresponding to disk devices 6(1)-6(n) is set between a disk controller 4(1) and these devices 6(1)-6(n) which are controlled by the device 4(1). In a reading mode the disk device 6(2) transfers data to a data buffer 55b when an interruption is given from the device 6(2) while the devices 6(1) is transferring data to the device 4(1). The transfer of data is interrupted to the device 4(1) while data are transferred to the buffer 55b. Then the data are transferred to the device 4(1) from the buffer 55b.
