PURPOSE:To prevent dispersion of composition in a cast billet and clogging of flow path of molten metal by supplying the molten metal into a tundish, taking out a plug from a nozzle after the composition and temp. of stored molten metal become desired condition, and starting drawing of a starting bar. CONSTITUTION:The tundish nozzle 12 in the tundish 11 is closed by the plug 25. The molten steel 22 is poured into the tundish 11 and heated by induction current through a coil 21. Next, the composition and temp. in the molten steel 22 are detected by a sampling instrument 23 and thermometer 24 respectively. After pouring, when the composition and temp. become suitable values, the plug 25 is pushed in the tundish by head 16 of the starter bar 15 through a motor 19. After that, the molten steel 22 is flowed into a mold 14 and solidified, to cast the cast billet by shifting and drawing the starter bar 15. By this method, the dispersion of the composition in the cast billet and clogging of the flow path of molten steel is prevented. |
