PURPOSE:To realize a short seeking time by providing a circuit which outputs an index signal at every at the different rotational angle positions of a magnetic disk plate. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed value can be set in index generating position registers 4-7, from a control circuit inside a magnetic device. Assuming the counted number of a counter 3 for one rotation time of the magnetic disk is N< and the set values of the index generating position registers 4-7 are 0XN/4, 1XN/4, 2XN/4 and 3-N/4 respectively, the index signal is generated at the positions shifted by 1/4 rotation at every head. Accordingly, a rotation waiting time obtaining a bit of positioning information can be shortened to the value divided by the number of the magnetic heads. Thus, the shot seeking time can be realized. |
