PURPOSE:To form a circuit at low cost by counting clock pulses by a counter, setting the dead time at the time corresponding to the number or counting and changing over the difference of the dead time by a changeover circuit. CONSTITUTION:A dead-time preparation circuit is constituted of a D flip-flop (DF/F) 5 for dividing ferquency, counters 1a-1b conducting counting at pulses U0 for drive, logic circuit sections 2a-2b, DF/F4a-4b stopping the operation of the counters a 1a-1b, etc. Output signals corresponding to said number of counting set are changed over by a changeover circuit 3 organized of a switch SW, an inverter I3, etc., and signals are input to the other input ends of AND gates G3, G4. Consequently, signals are output from the arbitrarily set logic circuits 2a-2b when the counters 1a-1b reach a set value. The outputs of the signals are input to the DF/F4a-4b through the changeover circuit 3, and a transistor is driven at pulses delayed for a fixed time.
