PURPOSE:To display the distribution of two-dimensional fatigue damages by radiating two-dimensionally and continuously fine line X rays of a single color, and measuring a half value of each diffracted X rays. CONSTITUTION:Parallel fine line X rays 3 are radiated vertically to the surface of a sample 2 for receiving a repeated load from an X-ray source 1. Subsequently, diffracted X rays 4 from the sample 2 are detected by an X-ray detector 5 and sent to an arithmetic unit 6 together with its detected position, and from the integrated diffracted X-ray intensity distribution, half value width of this distribution corresponding to a degree of damage is calculated and measured, and the half value width and its sample position are stored in a storage device 7. When the same measurement and storage are performed to a two-dimensional area of the sample 2 by an X-ray scanner and the storage contents of the device 7 are displayed on a display device 9, the distribution of a two-dimensional fatigue damage can be displayed, and the maximum fatigue damage degree and its position are detected. |
