Each floppy disk is provided with a separate information carrier positioned separately from the disk normal data carrier, and which information carrier has special data relating to the disk recorded. A reader is stationarily located, past which the floppy disks pass for reading, the read information being fed to a special input in a computer system. A number of disks are stored in a magazine to be fed forward in strict sequence automatically by a feed unit for processing, the reader being positioned in connection to the feed unit, its function being contact-less for reading the data on the separate information carrier. The separate information carrier is of the strip code type, and incorporated in the reader is a code converter comprising computer whose programme permits reading adjusted to the feed-in speed from the floppy disk magazine, the conversion being from the read code to one suitable for the computer. An address ticket printer is activated to print data which corresponds to each processed disk, the disks carrying their printed tickets then being packeted. |
