PURPOSE:To increase cooling capability, by arranging a vapor-liquid separator at the tip of a liquid helium supplying pipe, exhausting the separated vapor phase component outside a vessel, and supplying only the liquid phase component via an expansion valve. CONSTITUTION:A closed vessel 2 stores superfluidity helium 3 in which a body 1 to be cooled is dipped. A vapor-liquid separator 6 is installed at the opening end of a liquid helium supplying pipe 21 inserted into the vessel 2. The liquid helium supplied from the supplying pipe 21 is in a vapor-liquid mixed phase, which is completely separated into a vapor phase and a liquid phase by the vapor-liquid separator 6. The gas helium is discharged outside the vessel through an exhausting pipe line 11, and puts no load on a decompression pump 13. The liquid helium is introduced into the vessel 2 through an expansion valve 8, and subjected to isoenthalpic expansion, so that it is effectively cooled and turned into superfluidity helium 3. Thus, the thermal permeation component is isolated by the vapor-liquid separator 6, and discharged outside the system. Thereby, the cooling efficiency is kept high. |
