PURPOSE:To prevent dew condensation without degrading thermal efficiency by providing an endothermic member contg. ceramics paper having a function to radiate far IR rays on the inside wall of a case member enclosing a heating roll. CONSTITUTION:The heating roll 1 and a press roll 2 are enclosed of the endothermic member 10 consisting of the ceramics paper and, therefore, when heat is dissipated from the surface of the heating roll 1 in a fixing operation, the dissipated heat is absorbed in the member 10 where the heat is changed to far IR rays. The far IR rays are radiated from said member. The roll 1 is thereby warmed up and the decrease in the temp. of the roll 1 is effectively prevented even if cold air flows into the roll through vent holes 13a-13d. The degradation in the thermal efficiency is thereby prevented and the fixability is enhanced.
