PURPOSE:To shape a beam so that the direction of the major axis of the ellipse of a fine spot intersects orthogonally a track by setting optical axes, intersecting orthogonally in the same plane between a beam shaping prism and a deflecting prism, and arranging a deflecting beam splitter, and providing a rectangular reflector, 45 deg.C inclined around the optical axis, behind the splitter. CONSTITUTION:The optical axis of laser light 2 after a beam shaping after it is emitted from a semiconductor laser 1 and passes through a coupling lens 3 and the beam shaping prism 8, is set so as to intersect orthogonally the optical axis, connecting between the beam splitter 9 and the deflecting prism 4, in the same plane. Then, at the back part of the deflecting beam splitter 14, a rectangular mirror 15 as the rectangular reflector is provided, and the connecting line 15b of the rectangular planes in an interior part is placed in a state that it is 45 deg.C inclined around the optical axis. By leading the beam to the deflecting prism 4 side as it is in the state the elliptical direction is 90 deg.C converted by the rectangular reflector 15, the direction of an beam ellipse can be shaped and corrected so that the direction of the major axis of the ellipse of the fine beam, cast on a recording medium 6, comes to desired state that it orthogonally intersects the track. |
