Salt of formula (I), in which W is a gp. from arginine, lysine, histidine, diamino-butyric acid or ornithine, for use in treatment of arterio-sclerosis and hyper-lipemia is made by reaction of the acid ML-236B of formula (II) or the corresp. lactone, with the basic amino acid. The reaction is carried out in mixed aq.-organic soln. using ethanol or THF as solvent, for one hour at ambient temp. up to around 60 deg.C.
