PURPOSE:To facilitate peeling of a member at connecting part and consequently improve the connecting workability by a structure wherein a peel ply is provided between tension steel cords and widthwise steel cords. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate rubber layer 17 is interposed between steel cords 11, which are arranged in the longitudinal direction of a belt main body W, and a steel cord layer 12, which is arranged in its width direction, and consists of a peel ply 18, which is produced by arranging a cloth layer having a small tearing strength. When the connection of the terminal parts of the belt main body in an endless belt is intended, some cuts are made in the peel ply 18 at each terminal part of the belt main body W so as to tear off a top surface covering rubber 13 and a steel cord layer 12 from the peel ply 18 in order to cut off said top surface covering rubber 13 and steel cord layer 12 at the predetermined position. After that, end treatment is done. Then, an integral structure of an top surface covering rubber 13 and a steel cord layer 12, the lengths of which are respective same as those of said cut off rubber 13 and layer 12, is placed to the cut-off portion so as to make into an integral body by vulcanizingly molding in order to constitute an endless lengthwise-rip- proof belt.
