PURPOSE:To permit uniform application of initial tension to sheet-shaped recording media and stable and uniform sticking thereof to a substrate by subjecting the annular region of the outer circumference of the recording medium to vacuum suction in the direction nearly perpendicular to the diametral direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:The disk substrate 3 is disposed between a pair of the upper and lower sheet-shaped recording media 1 and both supporting means 13 are brought into pressurized contact therewith from above below. A vacuum source is acted to vacuum suction ports 17 provided to the supporting means 13 so that the annular region 1b on the outer circumference of the media 1 is subjected to the vacuum suction in the arrow (b) direction nearly perpendicular to the diametral direction. As a result, the initial tension is applied uniformly on the media 1 in the arrow (c) direction from the center toward the outer circumference. Pressure contact means 19 are brought in this state into pressurized contact with the medial from above and below and the media are adhered by a pressure-sensitive adhesive agent 29; thereafter, the outer circumferential part of the media 1 is cut to an annular shape. The initial tension is thereby uniformly applied to the media 1 and the media are stably and uniformly stuck to the substrate 3.
