发明名称 ATMOSPHERIC CORROSION MONITOR
摘要 PURPOSE:To determine an atmospheric corrosion rate accurately by electrochemical measurement, by a method wherein a porous sintered plate is put tight on an electrode laminate composed of a sample metal material and left alone in an air atmosphere to develop a moistened state on the surface of the sample metal material. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to an atmospheric corrosion monitor in which a chemically inactive and electrically insulating porous sintered plate 8 is arranged tight on a lamination surface of an electrode laminate 6 produced by laminating a working electrode 1, an opposed electrode 2 and a reference electrode 3 all made of a sample metal material with an insulation thin film 4 interposed therebetween. The monitor is left along for a long time in an air atmosphere that exceeds the critical humidity and temperature in the generation of corrosion. Consequently, the formation of dew occurs and is promoted in the atmosphere with the porous sintered plate 8 as the medium and the surface of the electrodes of the electrode laminate 6 gets moistened. Under such a condition, while a fine current as polarization current flows from a power source 10 between the working electrode 1 and the opposed element 2, changes in the potential of the working electrode 1 are measured with a potentiometer 12 with respect to the reference electrode 3, thereby determining an atmospheric corrosion rate of the sample metal material.
