<p>PURPOSE:To accurately read and write information by arranging a wiping member in the vicinity of a read/write part and removing electrostatic charge, dirt, dust or the like on the surface of a magnetic card at the time of reading and writing data. CONSTITUTION:A brush 91 is provided in the vicinity of a magnetic card inser tion entrance 11 on a carrying path, and a brush 93 is provided in the vicinity of a magnetic head 27. The inserted magnetic card is carried to the depth of a device after being wiped with the brush 91. The magnetic card is wiped once at the time of reading the code by a magnetic bar code sensor 29 and is wiped once at the time of reading data by the magnetic head 27 and is wiped once at the time of writing data and is wiped once at the time of checking written data, that is, the card is wiped four times in total for the purpose of removing electrostatic charge, dust, or the like, and thereafter, the card is carried to a thermal head 25 and data is printed. Thus, electrostatic destruction of the thermal head and damage of elements are prevented to accurately read and write information.</p> |
