摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To efficiently electrolyze zinc with a miniaturized apparatus, by feeding an electrolyte between an anode consisting of a semicircular gas diffusion electrode and a cathode opposite thereto consisting of a rotary drum made of Al, and peeling a zinc foil deposited on the rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:The bottom of an electrolytic cell 10 is formed by an anode 11 held with a bottom frame 12 made of metal and consisting of a semicircular gas diffusion electrode. As a cathode 15 opposite to this anode 11, a rotary drum 13 wherein both side faces are insulated, coated and it is made of Al is vertically supported rotatably on the wall of the electrolytic cell 10. An electrolyte 25 is circulated into the electrolytic cell 10 by a pump 23 and the exposed part of the outer circumferential surface of the lower part of the cathode 15 is immersed into the electrolyte 25. Hydrogen is fed to the anode 11 through a feed port 16 together therewith. In this state, while rotating the rotary drum 13, electrolysis is performed and a zinc foil 26 deposited on the rotary drum 13 is peeled and recovered. The bubbles of oxygen are not formed on the surface of the electrode 11 by means of hydrogen depolarization and electrolysis is efficiently performed and also hydrogen immiscible with oxygen is generated from the cathode 15 and can be recovered.</p>
