PURPOSE:To prevent clogging of a nozzle due to dryup of ink, by fusing ink through heating means when a record is made then applying voltage between pairs of conductive members arranged while facing one another at micro-gaps and ejecting ink through micro holes. CONSTITUTION:An ink jet head comprises a substrate 1 on which a heating means, i.e. a resistor 2, and an insulator 3 are formed, pairs of conductive members 5 facing one another at micro-gaps 4, a thin board 7 having micro- holes 6 and a spacer 8. After power is fed to the resistor 2 and solid state ink 9 is fused, voltage is applied onto the pairs of conductive members 5 so as to produce gas 10 and an ink drop 11 from the ink 9. Since power is fed directly to the ink which exhibits solid state at room temperature and exhibits conductivity when fused thermally so as to form an ink drop, clogging due to dryup of ink can be prevented. |
