PURPOSE:To prevent a shock from occurring at the time of engagement between sprocket gears and a multiple chain by stretching a multiple chain formed of the link plates which are arranged along the helical inclination angle of the sprocket gear, and obliquely coupled with link pins between the mutually opposite sprocket gears. CONSTITUTION:Sprocket gears 6, 13 provided on the primary and secondary front drive shafts 4, 10 respectively are formed into a helical gear. A multiple chain 16 formed of the plural link plates 20 which are arranged along a helical inclination angle, and obliquely coupled with joint pins 22 is stretched on the helical gear of the sprocket gears 6, 13. The rotation of the primary front drive shaft 4 therefore causes the multiple chain 16 to engage the sprocket gears 6, 13 in such a way as the plural link plates 20 obliquely arranged along the helical inclination angle can engage the sprocket gear 6 in order.
