PURPOSE:To allow the device to work with various control characteristics by dividing the vary range of revolving speed etc. into the continuous control range and fixed control ranges in the number of pieces n, changing the target position of a control part in his continuous control range according to the revolving speed, and by fixing it to the setting position in the fixed control range. CONSTITUTION:A reference signal is generated 1 to give the target position of a control part for control amount adjustment to the revolving speed (or throttle opening) of an engine, and deviation between a position detection signal from a sensor circuit 2 and this reference signal is sensed 4. If the varying range of the engine revolving speed is divided into a continuous control range and fixed control ranges in the number of pieces n, a range detecting signal is generated 3 which shall show in which range the revolving speed lies, and the deviation between the sensed position and the control part setting position in each fixed control range shall be sensed 5. On the basis of output from each sensor circuit 3-5 a drive command generator circuit 7 judges whether it is continuous control range or fixed control ranges, and actuator 9 is controlled on the basis of either deviation selected according to the result from this judgement.
