In order to support a heavy and mobile load 3, such as a bridge section, which has to be pushed, a support 1 is used which comprises a rigid core 7 in the shape of a flattened cylinder, a sleeve 8 made of elastomer reinforced with a wire mesh or the like 9 and two sheets 10, 11 interposed between the core and the sleeve, made to adhere against this core and this sleeve respectively and juxtaposed against each other at least along the upper plane face of the core, which sheets are suitable for sliding against each other with a low coefficient of friction.
