PURPOSE:To add a format to an information written on an original sheet and to record them by providing an illumination member of first wavelength and an illumination member of second wavelength to the illumination means of a read optical system. CONSTITUTION:The yellow color LED 3a and the green color LED 3b are arrayed in alternate sequence with uniform pitch between each other to constitute a light source 3. By selecting through a control panel 14, a sheet 1 is irradiated with the light from the green color LED 3b in the case of imprinting a format 1c written in yellow color on the front surface 1a or the rear surface of the sheet 1 together with an image drawn on the sheet 1, but with the light from the yellow color LED 3a in the case not imprinting the format 1c. For instance, if secrecy is demanded, a format switch on the control panel 14 is operated to light the green color LED 36 of the light source 3, then a copy switch is depressed. Accordingly, in the output on a recording paper 9a, characters 'SECRET' are included to express that the paper 9a is a document that demand secrecy.
