In order to manufacture contacts 10 for a splitting terminal block of the type comprising at least two superimposed rows of parallel contacts, the contacts of one row being electrically insulated from one another, two identical contact combs 10, nested head-to-tail, are cut from a sheet metal strip in such a way that the distance separating two contiguous contacts of the same comb corresponds substantially to the insulation distance separating two contacts of the same row in a splitting terminal block. By comparison with the usual method of manufacture, this method enables the scrap mass to be halved and the speed of production to be doubled. <IMAGE>
