PURPOSE:To reduce the heating of a solenoid, by providing the solenoid valve having a plunger with a holding coil for holding a fuel valve in an opened condition and with an attracting coil which is energized by throwing in the power supply at the time of starting and which is subsequently deenergized at the time when the input switch of a starter is thrown in. CONSTITUTION:When an engine is started, first, a key switch 9 is connected to the terminal in a running preparation position ACC to energize both the holding coil 2 of a solenoid 1 and the exciting oil 12 of a control relay 11, so that the contact 15 of the relay can be closed. Next, the key switch 9 is connected to a terminal C to energize an attracting coil 3, so that a fuel valve 7 is opened via a plunger 4, a rod 5, and a lever 6. At the same time, the coil 14 of a starter with 13 is energized to move a plunger 16 to the left, so that a pinion gear 21 is engaged with a ring gear 22 to start the engine by the drive of a starter 20. Further, by closing the circuit between contacts 18 and 19, both ends of the exciting coil 12 are made to be the same voltage to deenergize the coil 12, so that the contact 15 is opened to stop the electrification to the attracting coil 3.
