PURPOSE:To enable uniform cleaning of whole surface of all bean grains without causing cracking of the grain, damage of surface, etc., by enclosing a bean grain with surfaces of a pair of cleaning belts, moderately pressing the grain and transporting the grain under rotation to effect the washing of the surface. CONSTITUTION:A pair of cleaning belts 1, 2 having moderate surface elasticity and containing proper amount of cleaning liquid are disposed close to each other in parallel facing the surface of each belt 1, 2 and are rotated at different speeds. Bean grains W are supplied from a feed hopper 12 to the gap between both cleaning belts 1, 2, pressed between the surfaces of the belts and transferred under rotation. The bean grains W discharged from both cleaning belts 1, 2 are supplied to a grain falling plate 15 of a drying apparatus B and spontaneously fallen down. In the course of the falling motion, water attached to the surface of the bean grains W is quickly removed and dried by hot air supplied from a hot-air generator 16. |
