PURPOSE:To obtain the titled coating compound useful in a coating compound for cans, having excellent processing properties and corrosion resistance, by blending an epoxy resin prepared by subjecting a bisphenol and an epihalohydrin to polycondensation and having a specific degree of branching with a curing agent resin. CONSTITUTION:(A) An epoxy resin which is obtained by subjecting a bisphenol and an epihalohydrin to polycondensation and has 3,000-30,000 number-average molecular weight and 2-15wt.% degree of branching (NBr) shown by the formula (A2.8, A4.0 and A5.5 are integrated strength of peak group of chemical shifts 2.8ppm, 4.0ppm and 5.5ppm in nuclear magnetic resonance spectrum of a test specimen obtained by urethanizing hydrogen of epoxy resin) is blended with (B) a curing agent resin in a weight ratio of 97:3-40:60 to give the aimed coating compound standing severe mechanical processing such as high-degree draw processing, multiple neck-in processing or bead processing in can manufacturing and having hygienic characteristics and fragrance retention because of corrosion resistance. |
