The invention relates to a device allowing lines, accessories and craft to be positioned, with the aid of a positioning appliance 1, far from the water's edge 38 without casting (throwing). The positioning appliance 1 moves using an autonomous propulsion system connected from the water's edge 38 by a line 28, which unwinds as the appliance advances, acts as a rudder for it, and controls it.
