PURPOSE:To prevent destruction of materials in track parts due to film stress by providing narrow grooves between plural small groove parts for thin film sticking and sticking a thin film only to upper parts of small groove parts to reduce the extent of sticking of the thin film to wall surfaces of track parts. CONSTITUTION:Narrow grooves 20 are provided between plural small groove parts 13 for thin film sticking on abutting surfaces of a pair of half blocks HB consisting of an oxide magnetic body to form track parts 21, and a metallic magnetic thin film 14 is stuck. In this case, the width of grooves is set to such value that the film 14 is stuck only to upper parts of small groove parts but is not stuck to wall surfaces 20a of track parts 21. Thereafter, every other track part 21 is eliminated, and a magnetic head core is finished through prescribed processes. Since the film stress of the thin film 14 does not act upon wall surfaces 20a of track parts 21, destruction of core materials such as cracks and breaks of track parts 21 is prevented.
