Record player, comprising a motor-driven turntable, carrying the record to be played, and a sound pick-up, which has a sound pick-up head for receiving the sound pick-up system fitted with a stylus. When used as intended, the sound pick-up head having the sound pick-up system with the stylus is on the one hand placed freely in the direction in which gravity acts on it onto the record carried by the turntable, and is supported with the stylus of the sound pick-up system and with downwardly directed bristles against the record, and on the other hand is secured against rotating along with the turning record.
