The invention relates to a process for producing rectilinear channel parts, particularly for boiler plants, and to a rectilinear channel part. The channel parts are produced from channel plate, reinforced and provided with an insulation and coated with thin plate. In order to render the production and handling simpler, the plate material (1, 2) to be used to produce channel parts and the insulation material (3) are delivered to the site of erection in raw-material form. The strength-related dimensioning of the channel parts, the production, the reinforcement, the monitoring (control) of the density, the heat insulation and coating of the insulation are carried out at the site of erection as a continuous, uniform process in accordance with the values obtained on the basis of plant planning. <IMAGE>
