Plastics clips are secured to the taps of vertical posts of e.g. a fence so that an electric cable may be supported horizontally at a suitable tension. Each clip has a shell holding the head of a securing screw, and supporting a clamp with a cylindrical base (5) from which two arms (8) project upwards, forming a slot (7) into which the cable is inserted. Before the wire is inserted, a locking cylinder (4) with longitudinal slots is inserted into the cylindrical base, the cable then fitting into the upper slot. The cylinder is rotated by a key to secure the cable in the clip. ADVANTAGE - Wire is not damaged in any way.
