Ammunition, especially large-calibre ammunition, has until now been packaged in two-piece plug-in sleeves consisting of wound paper or wound cardboard and whose upper part and lower part are closed by a sheet-metal base and sheet-metal cover on which carrying handles are arranged. This type of fibre packaging in the form of a plug-in sleeve has been proven over a long time, but has the disadvantage that, because of inadequate robustness, it can be used only in combination with additional packing cases. The object of the invention is thus to create a novel ammunition packaging based on the conventional plug-in sleeve, but in the case of which there is no longer any need for any additional packing case. This object is achieved by the ammunition packaging according to the invention in that the plug-in sleeve is a two-piece cylindrical internal plug-in sleeve around which a two-piece outer plug-in sleeve, which consists of a lower part and an upper part, is likewise arranged, which is firmly connected to the inner plug-in sleeve by means of a spacer rings, leaving an annular gap free. The two sleeves each consist of wound paper or wound cardboard of conventional construction, and the free annular gap between these two sleeves is preferably stiffened by filling it with a foam material. A preferred embodiment of an ammunition package according to the invention follows from the drawing.
