Phenolic pitches resulting from the process for the production of phenol from cumens via cumene hydroperoxide, are placed in contact with metallic aluminium and the phenolic pitch thus treated is pyrolysed to recover a light fraction constituted essentially by acetophenone, phenol, cumene and alpha-methylstyrene. |
