The transmission has two spaced bearings (74,76) one to radially support a transmission shaft (56) and one to axially support it. The radially-supporting bearing is a radial roller bearing on a radial ball bearing. The axially-supporting bearing is a thrust needle bearing. The opposite shaft ends mount driving and driven gears, the latter meshing with an output gear of an auxiliary change speed gear assembly. The driving gear drives a gear of a final reduction gear assembly.
