As far as costs and benefits are concerned, the limits of existing transport systems have to a great extent been reached. In particular, there are scarcely any regional links between road and rail which are independent of container railway stations. The possible uses of standard containers are limited, since in practice there are no road-vehicle-integrated loading systems which satisfy requirements. The invention eliminates these disadvantages by a loading and transporting device which meets virtually all the requirements for container loading, unloading and offloading in virtually all localities, loading up and unloading from vehicles and container storage up to and including stacking, since the loading system can move the container in all three planes and about three axes.
