The invention concerns a device for conditioning the air a diver inhales to a temperature above body temperature and a humidity near saturation with a heat exchanger, in which heat and water are supplied to the inhaled air from a hot-water reservoir. The problem posed for the invention consists in improving a device of this nature so that it is light and small, can be operated practically with the water for the diver, and supplies sterilised air for inhaling. The solution to the problem is characterised by the use of a membrane module for moistening the inhaled air, through whose membranes water vapour can penetrate, with the air to be inhaled flowing through the membrane module. Before entering the membrane module and after leaving it, the air to be inhaled can be heated to the higher temperature in the heat exchanger.
