The invention relates to a connection member for the sealed connection of one end of a pipe consisting of plastic, preferably of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), to one end of a pipe consisting of metal, preferably steel. In order to provide a connection member of the abovementioned type which is not only easy to produce and relatively rapid to mount, but also has a desired long-term sealing capacity, the invention proposes that said member be composed of an outer bush (1) and an inner pressing bush (2) which is arranged coaxially with respect to said outer bush, an annular space (3) being left between the outer peripheral surface of the inner bush (2) and the inner peripheral surface of the outer bush (1), which annular space serves to receive the connection end (4) of the plastic pipe (5) with a press fit. In its inner peripheral surface, the outer bush (1) exhibits a plurality of annular grooves (6) in the manner of a toothing arrangement. In its inner peripheral surface, the outer bush (1) is provided at least with one annular groove (7) in which an O-ring (8) is located. <IMAGE>
