A centrifugal pump that can be used in particular for the circulating pumps of dish-washing machines has a pump impeller (3) which is mounted on a drive shaft (6) of a drive motor (1). The pump impeller (3) bears a seal runner (8) arranged coaxially to the drive shaft (6), against which a sealing ring (9) pressed on axially and secured against twisting in the pump casing (2) fits. In order to prevent overheating of the seal runner (8) if the pump runs dry, i.e. if the sliding seal (8, 9) is not cooled by a liquid, which can lead to deformation or other damage of the pump impeller (3), the seal runner (8) has a thermally conductive connection to the drive shaft (6) via a thermal bridge (14). <IMAGE>
