PURPOSE:To obtain a glass fiber useful for molded articles of a glass-fiber reinforced thermosetting resin having excellent water and boiling resistance, by coating a glass fiber with a sizing agent containing a specific urethane acrylate resin having specific (meth)acryl functional groups. CONSTITUTION:A glass fiber coated with a sizing agent containing an urethane acrylate resin, prepared by esterifying terminals of an urethane resin with acrylic or methacrylic acid and expressed by a structure having one or two or more acryl or methacryl functional groups. The pickup ratio of the glass fiber coated with the sizing agent is preferably 0.5-2.5wt.%. A suitable composition of the fiber coated with the sizing agent is 70.0-98.0wt.% urethane acrylate resin and 2.0-30.0wt.% coupling agent. A lubricant or antistatic agent may be contained in the sizing coat for improving operability. Vinyltrichlorosilane, vinyltriacetoxysilane, etc., are cited as the coupling agent used.
