PURPOSE:To optionally set a range for even allocation and at the same time to directly display the state set after the even allocation, by designating the character strings to be evenly allocated and the allocating width. CONSTITUTION:A RAM 3 stores the character information to be displayed on a bit map display 10. A mouse 11 and a keyboard 12 select a specific character string out of the character information stored in the RAM 3 and at the same time designate a range for even allocation. A CPU 1 calculates and decides the display position of each character for each bit when the character strings are evenly allocated within a designated range. Based on this deciding result, a display control device 9 displays the character strings allocated evenly onto the display 10. Thus the range for even allocation can be set at an optional width regardless of the character width, etc. Then this decided range is displayed as it is on the display 10.
