PURPOSE:To obtain a glass fiber useful for molded articles of a glass-fiber reinforced thermosetting resin having excellent water and boiling resistance, by coating a glass fiber with a sizing agent containing a specific epoxy acrylate resin. CONSTITUTION:A glass fiber coated with a sizing agent containing an epoxy acrylate resin, prepared by esterifying both terminals of a bisphenol A type epoxy resin with acrylic or methacrylic acid and having a structure expressed by the formula (R is H or CH3; n is 1-17). The pickup ratio of the glass fiber coated with the sizing agent is 0.5-2.0wt.% and the content of the epoxy acrylate resin in the fiber coated with the sizing agent is preferably 1-100wt.%. If a coupling agent is contained, the content thereof is preferably 0.01-30wt.%. Vinyltrichlorosilane, vinyltriacetoxysilane, acryltrimethoxysilane, etc., are cited as the coupling agent used. |
