PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition excellent in heat resistance, chemical resistance, compatibility with a (non)polar material, etc., by copolymerizing a maleimide monomer and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer with a specified monomer and another monomer copolymerizable therewith. CONSTITUTION:A monomer mixture is obtained by mixing 1-60wt.% maleimide monomer (a) (e.g., N-aryl-substituted maleimide) and/or an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer (b) (A) (e.g., methacrylic acid) with at least one monomer (B) selected from among an aromatic vinyl monomer (c) (e.g., styrene), an unsaturated nitrile monomer (d) (e.g., acrylonitrile) and an unsaturated carboxylic ester (e) (e.g., methyl methacrylate) and 0-50wt.% monomer (C) copolymerizable therewith. This mixture is copolymerized in the presence (absence) of a thermoplastic resin and/or a rubbery polymer to obtain the title composition comprising 1-70wt.% copolymer of a total content of component A, component (d) and component (e) <=7wt.% and 99-30wt.% copolymer of said content >=7wt.%.
