PURPOSE:To produce the title bonding accelerator which can increase a bonding force between rubber and steel cord, by dissolving an organomolybdenum compound in a nickel soap in the presence of xylene and removing the xylene from the solution. CONSTITUTION:An organomolybdenum compound (e.g., molybdenum dithiocar bamate) is added to a nickel soap (e.g., nickel naphthenate) so that the Mo to Ni ratio may be 0.05-0.5. Xylene is added to the mixture and the resulting mixture is heated to about 130 deg.C with agitation to dissolve the organomolybdenum compound in the soap. The obtained solution is heated at 170-180 deg.C for about 1.5hr in a vacuum <=20Torr to remove the xylene.
