A rear projection screen having a large horizontal viewing angle and good colour correction due to the special shape of the light dispersing elements (41) provided on the front side of the plate (40) is described. The resolving power is considerably improved by elements (43) provided on the rear side and spreading light in the vertical direction. A bulk diffusor (42) present in the plate may therefore be largely or completely dispensed with.
